S.A.F.E. Logo

The goals of S.A.F.E. are to increase seatbelt usage among students while providing strong safety messages throughout the school year.

SAFE was developed to reduce the number of motor-vehicle-related injuries and fatalities among Kansas high school students by increasing their safety belt use.
SAFE is a program designed to bring awareness to the importance of wearing a safety belt. Schools can compete to increase safety belt use among students, thereby saving lives.

The program has two specific partners:
  • Students Partners who will provide peer involvement in the program and ownership in a process which promotes safe behaviors.
  • Law enforcement Partners who provide enforcement during the project to strengthen the safety belt message.
